Week 3 - Internet Communications
The internet has changed the way the world communicates with every which way you can think about. Now we can communicate worldwide with friends, family, and loved ones. Not only just with emails but with applications for schools, loans, and being able to see your bank statements. I feel the internet has brought family and friends closer. I personally use Facebook to talk to all my uncles, aunts and cousins on a daily basis. Even my 90 year old grandparents use Facebook. I used to use Myspace but that’s a social network of the past. I feel Facebook is the best out of the two. I do not feel email is has made us impersonal. I still call my mom when its relevant because its nice to still be able to communicate with her and I can tell by the tones in her voice if everything is alright. I do not have a Skype account, but I do use AOL instant messenger as well as Blackberry Messenger. I feel Blackberry’s and iPhones have changed the way one communicates as well. Even txt messages. Now with Facebook, I have been able to communicate with people that I have not seen or talked to since elementary school The internet has change us in several way in which we now use as a tool to communicate.

I agree Justin. I still call my mom even though I may talk to her every once in awhile via e-mail or Facebook. As for Skype, I just downloaded that recently because my friend is going away to England for a year and she wanted to be able to talk through the computer. I have yet to use it but I think it is such a brilliant idea because you can talk and see that person at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI also keep in touch through Facebook with friends that I haven't seen since elementary school. It is fun when they post old pictures or temporarily change their profile picture to an old school picture and it brings back memories of what everyone looked like!
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to hear moms voice every once in a while to give you the feeling of warmth like the good old times of being home. I will be eager to try skype when i get my trip organized for Greece sometime in the future..
ReplyDeleteFacebook, is good and bad. Its what ruined my first marriage. My wife at the time left me for her ex, oh well..
